Studies have shown that 60% of child sexual abuse is incest and that 77% of this is done by parents.
If you had reason to believe that a parent was molesting a child, what would you do about this?
Would your first impulse be to talk to the child, talk to the parent, talk to the spouse of the parent or talk to the authorities?
Current laws demand that if a therapist knows that someone is sexually abusing a child, they must immediately report that person. Do you think this is a barrier to sexual abusers seeking help? If so, can you think of a way that an abuser can get help but a child can still be protected?
A parent may be reluctant to report an abusing spouse because of the fear of loss of income when that spouse goes to prison. How would you suggest society address this?
There are numerous reports of children being abused by people in authority like priests, coaches,
school officials and celebrities. Often the abuse goes on for quite some time before the child reports it.
Sometimes they grow into haunted adults and can only speak about it then.
Why do you think children who are abused by adults outside the family are reluctant to tell their
parents about it, and what can be done about this?
Psychologists report that addiction to pornography of any kind (not just child pornography) is
frequently a symptom of childhood sexual abuse. We tend to treat pornography as a supply side problem.
How could we change our approach?
Psychologists also report that intense promiscuous behavior, especially involving multiple partners, is
also frequently a symptom of childhood sexual abuse. How do you think people who are intensely promiscuous
and are unconscious of the causes of their behavior could be awakened to this?
Another common symptom of childhood sexual abuse is intense sexual jealousy. How do you think we might raise awareness about this?
Do you believe that Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of child trafficking, committed suicide, or was murdered in his jail cell? If murdered, at whose orders and why?
Some people are concerned that all the children separated from their parents at the southern border who have never been located were sexually trafficked. Do you think this is the case? If so, what steps could be taken to stop this?
Both Donald Trump and Elon Musk are known for what many would consider perverted sexual
behavior of the kind that is often symptomatic of childhood sexual abuse. Do you think many people choose to remain indifferent to this because of their own hidden sexual wounding?
Is it possible that the damage they are doing to the country is their unconscious way of showing how much
damage has been done to them? If so, how might this be exposed and their behavior stopped?
