Do you think it’s easier to be close to your children and/or people your children's age (or people who
are the age of children you might have had) or to your grandchildren and people of that age?
Whichever generation you have better communication with, do you think it's because you understand them better or they understand you better?
In terms of grandchildren or people of that generation how deeply interested are you in the things that
interest them? What efforts have you made to discover their interests and to explore them?
How much listening have you done to the music your grandchildren listen to? What insights into them does
it give you?
Do you follow them on social media and do you ever comment on their posts?
Gen Z ers are famous for wanting to do much more remote work than previous generations.
Do you think this represents an antisocial trend or just a desire to be in more control of their own lives?
Given a choice would you rather work from home or go to an office?
Many people object to their style of communication (Snap Chat instead of straight texting for example).
Does this bother you? If so have you tried their style and see how it feels to you to
also communicate that way?
How do you feel you were different from them when you were their age?
How were your interests different and how was your relating to relatives and friends different?
Do you think the things you were interested in were more important?
Do you think your ways of relating were more loving and more effective?
When you talk to people of that generation do you get the feeling that you are boring them?
Do they bore you? If so do you think mentioning this could shift things? How?
Can you describe the differences between how you were raised, how your children or people of that
generation were raised and how your grandchildren or people of their generation were raised?
How do you think these differences have affected the behavior of each generation?
How do you think your grandchildren or people of GenZ in general will be raising their children?
