Did you expect the Democrats to win the presidency and/or the Senate and/or the House in the last election? If so, why did you think they would win?

Did you expect them to lose and if so, why?

Do you think they lost because they:

Focused on the wrong issues;

Focused on the right issues, but didn't present their case compellingly enough;

Didn't choose a candidate who was personally attractive to the electorate;

Chose Kamala Harris too late in the game for her to catch up;

Couldn’t buck the international trend to dump incumbents

Were too adversely affected by voter suppression.

If you think any of these was the reason, could you discuss how they could have done things differently?

During the campaign, Trump made statements that were demonstrably, false, especially about immigration and the economy. How do you think the Democrats could have refuted these claims?

What do you think it is about Trump's personality that makes him attractive to voters? Assuming his

backers would believe it, what do you think could be revealed about him that would finally

make them turn away?

Attraction to a "strong man" has long been seen as a major factor in Central and

South American politics. Do you think this is becoming more true in the United States and

if so, why do you think things are moving in that direction?

Do you believe people are more interested in equality or in freedom? Do you think there's a fundamental conflict between these two values?

How could the Democrats convince people that it is possible to have both that they are the ones to deliver on this?

Which do you think plays a greater role in politics these days - gender or race?

Having observed the results of the last election, what strategy would you suggest the Democrats use to

win the next one?

What candidate or kind of candidate should they choose?

What should be in their platform?

Do you consider social media a positive or negative force in elections?

Whichever the case, do you think the Democrats could be using it more effectively and if so, how?

Do you think increasing voter registration and voter turnout would benefit the Democrats? If so, what should they be doing about this?
